  If you are interested in being contacted about various park maintenance projects that involve physical work, please sign up. By signing up, you agree to be contacted when these projects become available, but you are not committing to any specific projects. These projects include the yearly painting of camp numbers on the blacktop. In 2024, the projects will also involve helping to assemble two covered benches on the road to the lighthouse, spreading gravel along a couple of trail areas, and potentially painting the Lake Michigan Beach House this fall.  If you have questions regarding these volunteer projects, please get in touch with Bob Sasin at (231) 233-8766. • Adopt-a-Highway Litter Pick-up

  FLSP will conduct the final Michigan Department of Transportation Adopt-A-Highway litter pick-ups in 2024 on Monday - September 23.  We will start the clean-up at 5 p.m.  For the September 23 event, we will meet south of the entrance and river. We need 10 to 12 volunteers to pick up trash along the northernmost 2-mile stretch of M-116 FLSP has adopted.  If we have additional volunteers, we will add nearby areas such as the beach, the Lake Michigan beach house access and parking area, etc. Participants are asked to bring their gloves and to review the safety video MDOT requires Safety Guidelines for the Adopt-A-Highway Program.
