FLSP was established May 25, 1992 and functions privately, as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, to promote the wise use and conservation of the Ludington State Park, one of the most beautiful state parks ever. In doing so, we also raise funds, through memberships and donations so that we can contribute to park operation wherever things are needed that haven’t been put in the state budget. (Generally contributions are tax deductible. Consult your tax advisor.)
We try to support and improve the park within the bounds of limits set up by the State. Our function is to enhance and promote the park operation. In doing so, we pass on suggestions made by visitors, coordinate volunteer efforts, and sometimes help with changes to the park.
We try to be a small, flexible organization that is able to be of help to the park management. We’re glad the state tolerates us, but we think we’re pretty tolerable.
