Track Chair
Track Chair -- First Chair is Funded The Friends of Ludington State Park (FLSP) has raised the necessary funds to be able to acquire a track chair. The track chair, which will provide additional accessibility to the park for individuals with mobility issues, will be made available for use in the summer of 2022 through an advance registration process. To learn more about the track chair check out the use of a one at other MI State Parks or the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. Numerous parks have multiple chairs available. The Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes are planning on having a third chair available next year. The total cost of a track chair for LSP is $13,000. FLSP allocated $5,000 towards the purchase of the first chair. The Community Foundation for Mason County made a $5,000 grant towards the chair and a number of other donors provided funding. The FLSP Board has decided to now raise funds for a second chair with the goal that it can be placed into service in 2023. FLSP will also be funding a trailer that can be pulled behind the LSP Gator utility vehicle in case the track chair needs to be retrieved from a trail. |
Please help us reach our overall fundraising goal for the second track chair by donating on-line today! You may also print our donation form and send it along with your check to FLSP at P.O. Box 123, Ludington, MI 49431 or via the FLSP Fund at the Community Foundation For Mason County. All donations of $250 or more will be recognized on the donation recognition plaque in the Warming Shelter.
