The Run for the Trees - Happy Little 5K is a virtual run fundraiser for the Michigan DNR. Proceeds support tree planting and forest protection efforts - such as invasive plant and forest pest management and early detection surveys - in Michigan state parks and recreation areas. FLSP along with the Ludington Run Club is holding an in person group 5K as a fun way to log your miles while enjoying our state park's beautiful trails.  

Regardless if you run or walk please join us on April 20, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.  

HOW: 

1. Register for the Happy Little 5K soon so you will have your t-shirt for the 5K by clicking here. 
2. Also register for the event on the FLSP website so we will know if you will be at the park on April 20. 
3. Tell your friends!

BEFORE THE RUN / WALK

• Wear your t-shirt and bib
• Gather at the pavilion near the Ludington State Park Hamlin Beach
• Bathrooms will be available
• Routes will be posted

THE 5K GROUP RUN

• Run or walk 5K at the LSP
• Yellow flags will help you navigate the way
• There will be water at the finish line (none on the course)

AFTER THE RUN OR WALK 

• Fuel back up with fruit, coffee, hot chocolate and marshmallows
• Enjoy camaraderie around a campfire with fellow participants
