The Run for the Trees - Happy Little 5K is a virtual run fundraiser for the Michigan DNR. Proceeds support trees planting and forest protection efforts - such as invasive plant and forest pest management and early detection surveys - in Michigan state parks and recreation areas. FLSP along with the Ludington Race Club is holding an in person 5K as a fun way to log your miles while enjoying our state park's beautiful trails.  

Regardless if you run, walk or roll please join us on April 22, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.  Please note: Roll refers to wheelchairs.  Bikes are not allowed on the various dirt / sand trails in the LSP.

HOW: 

1. Register for the Happy Little 5K soon so you will have your t-shirt for the 5K by clicking here. 
2. Also register for the event on the FLSP website so we will know if you will be at the park on April 22. 
3. Tell your friends!

BEFORE THE RUN / WALK / ROLL

• Wear your t-shirt and bib
• Gather near the Ludington State Park Hamlin Beach
• Bathrooms will be available
• Routes will be posted
• The Ludington Race Club will be having a group fun run during this event

THE 5K

• Run, walk or roll 5K at the LSP
• Yellow signs will help you navigate the way
• There will be water at the finish line (none on the course)

AFTER THE RUN / WALK / ROLL

• Fuel back up with fruit, coffee, hot chocolate and marshmallows
• Enjoy camaraderie around a campfire with fellow participants
