Hikers enjoy a break while participating in the first monthly guided hike.
|
|
FLSP held the first monthly guided hike on Sunday, August 20. Hikes will occur the third Sunday of each month beginning at 2 p.m. from the Warming Shelter. Each hike will be led by two volunteer hike leaders and will cover different areas of the park. You do not have to be an experienced hiker to participate since hiking pace and length will vary depending on the interest of the participants.
For more information contact FLSP Vice President, Gary Hearing, Hike Coordinator via email.

The Ludington Schools Business Professional Association (BPA) student organization recently donated over $700 to FLSP. The money was raised through a fundraiser that occurred to celebrate Earth Day this past spring. Melanie Tomaski, BPA Advisor, along with student members presented the donation to members of the FLSP Board at the Movies in the Park event sponsored by BPA and held on Thursday nights in August at Rotary Park.

In August, FLSP volunteers started coordinating the second daily use of the track chair in the late afternoon. Thanks to Bob and Susan Sasin and Jim and Debby Sillery for being great FLSP track chair ambassadors.
"I want to again express my heartfelt thanks for all of time, effort and awesome assistance in helping to coordinate our use of the track chair at LSP yesterday. Bob Sasin was delightful and extremely helpful in getting me all set up and on my way for a memorable visit to the Big Sable Lighthouse. I commend the Friends of Ludington State Park for their volunteer assistance and mission to make the park accessible in many ways for park visitors…it made the impossible possible!"
Most Respectfully, Deniece from Clarklake, MI

You may give towards overall park stewardship (trees, trail maintenance, historical structure repair), programming (summer entertainment, environmental education, signage, snowshoeing) or specific projects such as the second track chair. See our donor page for more information.
