Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers helping with invasive species eradication efforts. 

Ludington State Park Garlic Mustard Pull - Saturday, June 3, 10 a.m. to noon. Help protect the park from invasive plants like garlic mustard and spotted knapweed! We’ll cover the basic plant identification and then pull plants near the trailhead. Meet at the small parking area at the intersection of Piney Ridge Road and 19th Street, which is just north of Hobby Crest Resort. Long sleeve shirts, long pants and closed-toed shoes are highly recommended. For more information contact Emily Leslie.

There are numerous other volunteer opportunities including the Michigan Returnables Program, Guest Entertainment / Presenter series, Blessing of the Boats, and Adopt a Highway Litter Pick-up. For more information, please visit our volunteer page.

Happy Little Trees 5K 

The Happy Little Trees 5K DNR fundraiser occurred in April and was celebrated with a run/hike at the LSP on April 22. Thank you to those that participated in the event. 

Monthly Guided Hikes Reminder

The next guided hike will be on Sunday, May 21, starting from the Warming Shelter at 2 p.m. You do not have to be an experienced hiker to participate since hiking pace and length varies depending on the interest of the participants.

National Archery Day

Blessing of the Boats

The Blessing of the Boats has selected FLSP as their 2023 charity partner. The event will be held on June 24 at Waterfront Park. Please plan on supporting this event!

Beware of Ticks

FLSP 2023 Improvement Projects

Thanks to many generous donations our 2023 projects are fully funded! We are adding a second track chair, replacing two of the beach wheelchairs and adding a walkway on the Hamlin Beach like the walkway that FLSP funded ten years ago on the Lake MI beach.
