You Help Make a Difference

Hilary enjoying the track chair with her family.

"I was able to use a track chair at the Ludington State Park and was able to take a hike IN THE WOODS with my family, like my husband and I dreamt of before I got hit with my health issues. I am so grateful for the work your group has done to provide these chairs for people like me. Thank you!

Before my health conditions hit, my goal each summer was to hike every trail at the LSP, and some summers, I actually did! My husband and I used to backpack, and we had plans to take our kids backpacking when they were older. It brought me so much joy to actually be in the woods, not limited by pavement, with my kids, watching them wonder at the sounds of the woods, the unique fungi, and the bugs. Perhaps my favorite was the joy it brought my husband, as he was able to watch me move independently and enjoy the hike so much! It was a really special experience for us, and we are very grateful that your group has provided the track chair. We'll definitely be using it again." From Hilary, a grateful LSP visitor.

Thank you to the Volunteers

Volunteers working with LSP staff.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped the LSP staff install the two covered benches on the road to the Big Sable Lighthouse and those who helped paint the campsite numbers. Special thanks go to FLSP Board Member Bob Sasin, who coordinated both projects.

2024 Summer Music and Adventure Series

The 2024 Music and Adventure series is well underway. Based on past attendance, FLSP will host local favorite Chloe Kimes and her band at Waterfront Park in downtown Ludington on Tuesday, July 2. All performances are free to the public. The complete schedule can be found here.

FLSP still needs volunteers to assist with the Music and Adventure Programs. You can sign-up by clicking here.

We are thankful for this year's series sponsor, Safe Harbor Credit Union.

Guided Hikes - Take a Vacation

Because of parking challenges on Sunday afternoons at the LSP, there will not be guided hikes in July or August. Enjoy the park through individual hikes any day of the week.
