Before my health conditions hit, my goal each summer was to hike every trail at the LSP, and some summers, I actually did! My husband and I used to backpack, and we had plans to take our kids backpacking when they were older. It brought me so much joy to actually be in the woods, not limited by pavement, with my kids, watching them wonder at the sounds of the woods, the unique fungi, and the bugs. Perhaps my favorite was the joy it brought my husband, as he was able to watch me move independently and enjoy the hike so much!
