2023 Guest Presenter Series

The 2023 Guest Presenter series sponsored by FLSP continues to be well attended. The events are free to the public and run through Labor Day weekend. Check out the full schedule by clicking here. The photo below is from the Chloe Kimes concert on July 18.

Invasive Species Workday - August 12

There is another invasive species workday set in Ludington State Park on Saturday, August 12 from 10 a.m. to noon.  Volunteers will pull spotted knapweed and/or barberry. No experience is necessary, and training and tools will be provided.  Long sleeves, long pants, water bottle, sunscreen and hat are recommended.

Come help us remove invasive plants from the park!  Meet at the amphitheater parking lot. Register by emailing Emily at  LeslieE1@Michigan.gov

Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup

The second Adopt-a-Highway cleanup of the season took place on Monday, July 17. If you are interested in being involved and help with the September 25 cleanup, you can learn more and register by clicking here.

Adopt-a-Trail

There are still a few opportunities to Adopt-a-Trail in the Ludington State Park.  Check out the FLSP Adopt a Trail page that contains information on adopting an LSP trail and helping all of us enjoy it more. There are a total of 23 trails to adopt and the best part is it does not cost you anything beyond your time.

Blessing of the Boats

The Blessing of the Boats event held on Saturday, June 24, resulted in a total of $10,323.69 being raised for FLSP.  The FLSP Board extends its appreciation to Ludington Bay Brewing Company and Safe Harbor Credit Union for their incredible involvement and leadership of this event and all of the sponsors and volunteers that made the event possible.

Lowe's Contributes Time and Product

Bob Sasin, FLSP Board Member, organized a team of volunteers from Lowe's to paint the edge of the steps blue on the Skyline Trail. This project helps to increase the safe use of the trail. Lowe's also provided paint for the project. Thank you to all the volunteers that gave their time to complete this project.

Guided Hikes To Resume in September

Starting in September, monthly guided hikes will resume the third Sunday of each month at 2 p.m. For the September 17 hike, Gary Hearing, FLSP Vice President, is hoping to organize a kayak / canoe guided experience of the new north kayak / canoe trail. More information will be available in September.
